More with Jeans

Here are jeans in the process of being cut into strips.



Here they are cut into strips.



Now I have to sew all those strips together.



Wind them into balls.



Then finally I can weave them into a rug.



Here is my loom with the starting of a jean rug.

I still have jeans to cut and sew. So that will be all for tonight.

Cutting of the blue jeans

I washed up all the jeans that I pictured the other day. But that was about it. So today I have been cutting up the jeans.

Here is where I cut the seams out of the jeans.



And here my daughter is cutting the jeans into strips.

We ended up sitting outside on the porch, it was just such lovely weather I didn't want to be inside.

Will most likely be working on this part all weekend.

Well I'm going to leave it at that for the night. Planning on taking it easy, relaxing by a fire outside and cutting up more jeans.

Blue Jeans

I had a friend call me last night to let me know that she had some jeans for me. I stopped by her house on my way home from work and picked them up. Here they are.....




I added them to the couple of pairs that I already had, so now I have 35 jean that need to be cut into strips and sewn together for weaving. I am very happy to get jeans. They make very nice rugs. I really need to get working on these since I just sold my last jean rug this past weekend at a craft show.

I have the word out to people that I am looking for jeans. There are times that I come home and there is a bag of jeans waiting for me that someone has dropped off.

Well I better get started on this pile of jeans. I will show you tomorrow how the progress on these are going.
